Terms of use

Agreement and who we are
Mashi (ماشي) is a navigation service ("Mashi", "we", "us"). These terms apply to the Mashi app, its Android Auto screens, the website and related services. By installing, opening or using any of them you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you do not accept them, do not use Mashi.
Age and eligibility
You must be at least 13 to use Mashi. If you are under 18, use it only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for you. Some optional content is for adults only (see Voices and 18+ content). You may not use Mashi if the law or an earlier suspension by us forbids it.
Drive first
Mashi assists you; it does not replace your judgement. Obey traffic laws, road signs, police and checkpoint officers at all times, and do not handle your phone while driving.
Community information
Reports come from drivers and may be incomplete, late or wrong. Routes and arrival times are estimates. Speed-camera information is provided to encourage safe driving; keeping to the speed limit is always your responsibility.
Weather and external reviews
Confirm important details with the place. Weather is a MET Norway forecast under CC BY 4.0, not a local thermometer reading. Google Maps reviews are an optional external lookup; Mashi does not supply Google ratings.
Voices and 18+ content
Mashi offers optional recorded guidance voices. A voice marked 18+ (currently Lulu) is playful and flirtatious, uses adult humour and suggestive remarks, and is intended only for adults aged 18 or over. It is never chosen automatically: before you listen to or download it you must confirm that you are 18 or older, and by confirming you declare that this is true and that you choose to hear such content. Do not enable it for minors, or play it around minors or passengers who have not agreed to it. Parents and guardians are responsible for the devices their children use. If you find a phrase offensive, choose another voice. We may change or remove voices at any time.
Your contributions
Report only what you actually see. False, abusive, misleading or indecent reports, names, photos and messages are not allowed. You confirm that you have the right to submit what you post. By submitting a report, place, photo, price or other content you give Mashi a free, worldwide, non-exclusive and perpetual licence to store, display, adapt and use it to run and improve Mashi, including after you delete your account. We may edit or remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
Points, competitions and invitations
Points, levels, badges and leaderboard places reward genuine contributions. They have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged. Invite only real people who choose to join; invitation points stop at a daily limit. Fake reports, coordinated votes, multiple accounts, invited accounts you control, automated tools or location spoofing used to gain points are cheating. When we detect abuse we may withhold, remove or reset points, disqualify entries and withhold prizes. Each competition may have its own rules, prizes and dates shown in the app; our decision on results is final.
Acceptable use and app protection
Use Mashi only for lawful personal navigation and road information. You must not copy, modify, translate, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the app, its files or its voices, or try to obtain its source code; bypass or interfere with its security, integrity and anti-abuse checks or our servers; reach the service with bots, scrapers, unofficial apps or fake GPS; copy, extract, sell or republish the map, reports, places, prices or other data in bulk; remove copyright or ownership notices; or use Mashi to harass, track or harm anyone. Breaking these rules ends your licence immediately and may lead to legal action.
Your account
Give accurate details and use one account per person. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us if you suspect that someone else has used it.
Copyright and ownership
© 2026 Mashi. All rights reserved. Mashi, ماشي, the Mashi logo and icons, the app and website design, software, source code, map style, texts, graphics, sounds and recorded voices are owned by Mashi or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws of Iraq and international treaties. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the official app on devices you own or control, for your own use, under these terms. No other right is granted. Third-party data stays with its owners under their licences, listed below.
Map data
Mashi Maps are built by Mashi from map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (openstreetmap.org/copyright). Some place details come from the Overture Maps Foundation (CDLA-Permissive-2.0).
Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict or delete any account, remove content, or stop or change any part of Mashi at any time, with or without notice, especially to protect drivers, the service or the law. You may stop using Mashi and delete your account at any time from the app.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is", without any warranty. To the extent the law allows, Mashi is not liable for losses resulting from the use of route or report information.
Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the fullest extent the law allows, Mashi and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, lost data or profits, traffic fines, accidents or damage arising from the use of Mashi or reliance on its information, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the last twelve months, if any. You agree to compensate Mashi for claims and costs caused by your breach of these terms or misuse of Mashi.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use the service means you accept it.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Iraq, and disputes fall under the competent courts of Iraq. If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest remains in force.
